How long are sessions, and how often do I need to come to therapy?
My sessions are 45 minutes long and most of my patients attend weekly. While everyone is different, insomnia, sexual dysfunction and certain kinds of anxiety treatments are generally shorter term. Some issues such as relationship conflicts may require more time.
Do you accept insurance?
I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tricare and other major healthcare insurance. For those using out-of-network coverage, I submit claims with instructions to your carrier to reimburse you directly. Payment is due at the time of service, and you may use credit cards.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require three business days for a cancelled appointment. For example, if your appointment is on a Monday, to cancel it please let me know by the preceding Wednesday. With that window, I can usually reschedule your appointment. If we can’t reschedule it, you are responsible for the full cost of the session. A missed or cancelled appointment is not covered by insurance.

Flexibility in accommodating your schedule is important. If you are unable to attend a session in person, we can still meet using secure videoconferencing software. Most insurance carriers will reimburse for videoconferencing sessions.

Before beginning treatment for sleep problems, do I need to stop my medication?
No. Many people continue with sleep medications until they learn new techniques for achieving a good night’s sleep naturally. If you choose to stop medications, I will work with you and your doctor to determine the best way to taper off them.
